BATTLE OF DESIGNERS FASHION SHOW
This weekend (October 28th, 2012) was the
Battle of Fashion Designers Showcase and Fashion Battle! It was a packed house at the Omni
William Penn Hotel, the lights were flashing, cocktails were flowing, and
vendors had their finest accessories on sale for the shows’ guests during
intermission. Hosts Gary Curtis and Steel City Lives’ Vanessa Doss kicked off
the night by introducing our esteemed judges, the owner of La Passurelle
Boutique, America’s Next Top Model Season 7 contestant Bianca Golden and A regional
Fashion Stylist.
Everywhere you turned there was a stylish person
dressed to the nines, ready to witness Pittsburgh’s 1st annual
fashion battle. The contestants included: Abby
Baldwin, Nina Van Such, Malcolm Williams (Willie Gee's), Cherie Jackson (Cherish),
Angie Fec (Sew Addicted), and Lana Neumeyer.
There was also a performance by Pittsburgh’s own
rapper Nesia Beats, as well as a dance
performance by a liturgical dance team who danced with grace and elegance.
I covered the event, interviewing a few of the talented,
fashion designers on their journey in the world of fashion here in Pittsburgh.
